Services

The facility offers a literacy program designed to help inmates develop foundational knowledge and skills in reading, math, written expression, and to prepare inmates for GED classes. Inmates with low-English proficiency are required to take ESL classes. Adult continuing education, college correspondence programs, and parenting classes are also available. A Release Preparation Program is geared towards preparing inmates for their return to society. Inmate tutors teach skills including job searching, resume writing, budgeting and buying a home.

Rules & Dress Code

  • Wearing clothes that is appropriate for a large gathering of men, women, and young children may result in your being denied visitation.
  • It is important visits are quiet, orderly, and dignified. The visiting room officer can require you to leave if either you or the inmate is not acting appropriately.
  • In most cases, handshakes, hugs, and kisses (in good taste) are allowed at the beginning and end of a visit. Staff may limit contact for security reasons (to prevent people from trying to introduce contraband) and to keep the visiting area orderly. The Federal Bureau of Prisons does not permit conjugal visits.

  • Transportation for the visit must be arranged by ones own money. It's not the responsibility of the facility.
  • Suspension of visitors or visitation privileges may be authorized by the Warden or Designee. Under the Inmate Discipline process, the Disciplinary Hearing Officer is authorized to suspend and limit visitation privileges.
  • The Unit Team members will be responsible for placing a visitor on an inmate’s approved visiting list, and a hard copy of the visiting list will be placed in the inmate’s Central File. The Unit Counselor will notify the inmate of those visitors who has been approved.
